Lone Raindrop

•December 1, 2009 • Leave a Comment

A lone raindrop fell on my head and said a storm was comingsaid “Son, you’re going to hell.” I said I don’t think so.

A shadow took me by the arm and said “Hey Death is coming.”Said “darkness is rolling in on thunder and it won’t let you go.”
Well you can bring on the rain the wind and dark ’til I can’t see a thing and you’ve blown me around like a leaf, but You won’t change a thing I’m still gonna sing.

and I’ll run and I’ll run and I’ll run and I’ll try to help others be free.and I’ll see how much love I can be and I’ll run, when I’m done, right into the sea.

The mirror showed me an old man who said “One day you’ll be here. What will you have to show for your breath, tell me will you waste it?”
For there’s a whole world out there just reacting and scared in their momentsAs darkness haunts six billion souls all caught up in continuing their woes.
But they can bring on the rain the wind and dark ’til I can’t see a thing and they’ve blown me around like a leaf, but they won’t change a thing I’m still gonna sing.

and I’ll run and I’ll run and I’ll run and I’ll try to help others be free.and I’ll see how much love I can be and I’ll run, when I’m done, right into the sea.
Now I’m just a man but I do when I can what I can do.We don’t need a savior. We need to save ourselves.
To stop reacting to pain and put aside our differences.your life has value, my life has value, your lives have value, our lives have value….

Seperate Roads

(Verse 1)

Oh don’t you think we’ve been at this too long?
Oh we’ve not been at this long enough.
I’ve been riding on the backs of summer winds
Tryin’ find the right girl and do the right stuff.

How far down this road do you really have to go
To find love in a world like this?
And tell me are you satisfied trying to hide?
We’ll I’m not but there’s one thing I miss.

(chorus)

I’m sleeping on the cold side of my pillow
Bundled up on the cold side of my bed
And baby I’m a thousand miles from you
With a thousand miles of thoughts running through my head.

And honey when the rain leaks through my windows
As girl you know it does almost every night
I dream about finding the warm side of you
and knowing everything’s gonna be alright.

And oh, no matter where we go, I’ll miss you, cause I need you
And oh, when it comes down to one thing, I need you, whoa, cause I love you.
But our roads are two seperate roads.

(verse 2)

Did you know that even stars are lonely?
Up above they’re dancing  all alone.
And baby you know they’re trying to reach each other.
With the flickering of the light they’ve shone.

And baby we’re closer than constellations
But we’re not close enough to touch.
So let us dance for the world around us.
And burn away the pain nd the disgust.

(verse 3)

Is there anything you could’ve done better
as you slowly walk away?
I know it’s been a thousand lonely lifetimes
but I can still hear you callin’ my name.

And smile is the fire that I’m missing.
And your laugh doesn’t fill me with delight.
And my mind is contemplating leaving it all
to be alone with you tonight.

Lost Wolf

I am a lost wolf but for a while I’ll hold your hand.
If you like I am walking on the wind to understand.
Running.
Little boy, little girl why are you running?
why are you running from the only life you knew?
Could it be that the pain is leaving scars on your wrist?
Are you looking for some good news that is true?
running.
Little boy, little girl why are you crying?
Why are you crying in the corner of your room?
Could it be that your world provides no outlet
no explanation for the horrors and the gloom?
Lift your head with me
to the moon as we sing
wooooooooooooooooooo
Little boy, little girl where is your family?
Where is the love and guidance parents need to give?
Could it be you have to learn things the hard way
because you’re stumbling alone trying to live?
running.
Little boy, little girl where is your childhood?
Where is the childhood you should be having now?
Could it be they’re no longer important
Or is the world moving so fast you’ve come unwound?
Lift your head with me
to the moon as we sing
wooooooooooooooooooo
Little boy, little girl please don’t accept it.
Don’t accept the lonely life given to you.
It is not your fault, you can find true happiness.
Don’t let other hurting children define you.
running.
Little boy, little girl please be patient.
Please be patient for your time will truly come.
The day when you will create a better world.
The day when you can write upon the sun.
But for now lift your head
to the moon as we sing
woooooooooooooooooo

I am a lost wolf but for a while I’ll hold your hand.

Dawn of Life

I’ll love you on a rainy mountaintop we’re walking but I stop and pull you to me
I am but the wind and you are but the sky and moon and we are where I want to be
I’ll meet you in the morning, in the middle of the night our salty kisses mingle
You’re dancing in my heart, and quiet whispers in my bones, we laugh until we tingle.
No matter what I am, or all I’ll ever do
I want you by my side, I will be here for you.
And when the Sun comes up to wash the darkness away.
I want to see your face so I can take on the day.
You’re crying in the dark, you are alone and I am not around I’m reaching for you.
I hold you in my love, I’m reaching for the day when we can share that something meant for two.
I’m desperate in the morning, in the middle of the night the world is cold without you.
We’ll be running in the rain, on the wind we’ll fly and change the world with what we do.
No matter what I am, or all I’ll ever do
I want you by my side, I will be here for you.
And when the Sun comes up to wash the darkness away.
I want to see your face so I can take on the day.
And the wind will always blow.
And the moon will always glow.
And the Sun will always rise upon our love.

I’ll love you on a rainy mountaintop we’re walking but I stop and pull you to me

I am but the wind and you are but the sky and moon and we are where I want to be

Burn away the distractions

and the calcium deposits of time

You’ll find Love waiting

In it’s purest form,

To create moments

of unimaginable life

and unduplicatable happiness,

And realize why it was all worth it.

When that moment comes, hold on,

Not suffocating, but cherishing.

And you will heal. We all will.

That is our greatest hope.

To Be or Not The Wind

•March 26, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I tread the wearied paths of stone

as I make my way from the dun-

geon of a workplace to the cave

I call my room. It is morning.

Another dose of let there be

light blinds me as I beep through the

turnstile and add another

bag to the shrine we daily build

for the trash god. A flash of gold

on the right- their right- and my

hand is to my eye, saluting.

My stiffened arm extends all the

honor of a mockingbird as

it mocks loudly and thrashes

around, doing what it does

because it can and because that’s all it’s ever done.

Construction workers on their current

assignment are oblivious to the universe.

They’re content in their moments to think

and do what they do to get by

and never start to wander

the more obscure truths unless

it means a second’s glance on their way

to the fungus coated halls

where they enjoy freedom through inebriation

And move their feet to voices that sing

words not worth the effort that formed them.

It isn’t death I fear.

I fear fermentation of my mind.

I fear my ego is buried deep

inside the cavernous depths of my heart,

pulling all the strings. I fear that running

out of time might mean I’m running out of hope.

I fear my arms around a hole for dear life.

The light awakens the wolves

and they howl the question of

their days.  It is the first thing

a baby cries: “What do I do now?”

Resonates from all of our minds

like eight billion violins playing Beethoven’s fifth

and that the sun and moon don’t answer us,

makes us feel blind, makes us doubt

what is seen, makes us trust what isn’t there.

How we answer our question

is simultaneously our biggest freedom

and most prevalent cause for defeat.

I open the door to my room,

it is epic, warm, inviting… no more.

Wolves howl the question.

The wind just howls.

I dreamed my feelings ran amok

As oft they do under duress

And not so much emotions

Much as moods when under stress.

We think what spins the Earth a-tilt

Spins the fates that direct our paths.

Once comfort settles in our lives

And blinds us to the life we pass.

Emotion-based perception is

By far my only vision’s scope

It is the highest highs of love

Alone that bring my spirit hope.

Yet I have chosen a byway

That throws such hope at lion’s dens

They tear away the sinew of

My heart and crack the beating lens.

And so shall it be

One by one

The sparks of my past

Forever gone

This pain comes crashing all around

Shaking my fort of solitude.

The darkened skies I rage against

Condemning all I take for good.

I spend my days in ceaseless rage

I rise and fall and rise against.

In excess will I torment God

Until He grants me audience.

I cry out to an empty air

That swallows me in guiltless doubt.

The one that would have been

But gone for I had run her out.

And we so young so ready to

Throw our potential to the mud

To grind the weary paths of light

And put out fire with a flood.

And so shall it be

One by one

The sparks of my past

Forever gone

I have made choices I regret

But see no reason to impart

A future I regret as well

To tear and stab my only heart

I could become a ghost and dwell

Under, behind, below your bed

And send warm thoughts to you at night

And exist only in your head.

You could wake to find me gone

A servant phantom of the mind

But mine’s a fire far too great

For any not to seek and find.

The mind’s made up, it thinks it sees

What must develop from its source.

And I realize I cannot change

your world by some reason or force.

And so shall it be

One by one

The sparks of my past

Forever gone

Algernon will become my friend

And less and less conscious I’ll claim

Until alas they lock me up

In some mentalist’s hall of fame

So shall it be

One by one

The sparks of my past

Forever Gone.

An Ode to Rollercoasters

One by one they come to me

With sparks of hope and ecstasy

Caressing and penetrating

My darkest hours alone.

While I tread water recklessly

And find my heart pause frequently

And try to thwart the devilry

That digs into my bone.

Along against the ivory

And subtle hues of red I see

I see nothing of that in me

Which lingers, never gone.

I fight beyond the imagery

To grasp at what exquisitely

Seizes my soul so fervently

A doing never done.

My lifeblood becomes fiery

For one heart across land and sea

Remembering it was always free

To live the life it shown.

The Running Song

•December 1, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Another lonely night.

You tried to get things right

And all you seem to think about

Is putting up a fight

To move along.

Another tired day

You’re eyes are getting in the way.

And days turn into

Sleepless nights

Wondering how so right could turn so wrong.

You try to catch the moments

You try to make them last

But all those happy seconds don’t add up

To the good you’ve passed.

You try to catch the moments

But you know its too late

You’re looking for a day, someday

That is worth the wait.

You’re runnnning. Running away.

You’re runnning.  Day after day.

You’re running. Running.  Runnning.

And she is but a friend to me

And I am but a song of something more.

You’re walking down the road

You’ve walked along so many times

Before and still you try

To make it in this complicated lullibye.

You think you know the rules.

You know you don’t know anything

And with eyes closed you dive

Into a sea of an eternal mystery

You try to catch the moments

You try to make them last

But all those happy seconds don’t add up

To the good you’ve passed.

You try to catch the moments

But you know its too late

You’re looking for a day, someday.

That is worth the wait.

You’re runnnning. Running away.

You’re runnning.  Day after day.

You’re running. Running.  Runnnning.

And she is but a friend to me

And I am but a song of something more.

You’ve tried to isolate

Yourself from a whole world of pain

You wish you’d have the chance

To grab ahold and change to something more.

I’m sitting on the edge

of the moon’s old crooked smile

Waiting for the fire in your

Eyes  to remember how to roar.

You try to catch the good times,

You shudder in the bad.

You’re searching for a reason

For the dreams you had.

You know you’re not perfect.

You know noone ever was.

But after all is said and done.

You’ll live

and love just because…

she is but a friend to me

And I am but a song of something more.

BattleCry

Wake
The fire in the man
Whose eyes alone could understand
That passion of the sun unplanned
Can beat the dark of any land

Wake
The rain on solitude
That despite misunderstood
It’s never ending servitude
Brings death and life to bad and good

Wake
Eternal Vagabond
Melody’s friend could count upon
The name of wind and not on dawn.
And not the faces lingering on.

Wake
The evening, morning star
The fire to rage both near and far
To be content to set the par.
And leave the door of life ajar.

Wake
live ‘til you’ve no ounce left
A battle cry with every breath
Embrace the tears with no regret
Then journey past your lonely death.
